About the network

Infrastructure that belongs to the people using it.

Oklahoma Mesh is a grassroots effort to build resilient, community-operated communication across the state.

No towers required.

Meshtastic radios use LoRa on the 900 MHz band to send public or private text messages. Each node can relay traffic onward, extending the network one hop at a time without cellular service or internet access.

Designed to stay up.

Solar-powered repeaters operate independently from the electrical grid. Handheld nodes connect by Bluetooth, giving people a practical off-grid messaging layer for everyday experimentation and emergencies alike.

Built in public.

The network grows through Oklahoma operators choosing good sites, improving paths, documenting results, and helping newcomers get on the air.

Community-supported.
