A new Meshtastic firmware pre-release is out: v2.7.23.b246bcd (Meshtastic Firmware 2.7.23.b246bcd Alpha).
This is the first new firmware release in several weeks, so itβs worth a look for Oklahoma mesh operators who like to stay close to upstream changes before the next stable lands.
What stands out
- Fixes a heap blowout issue on T-Beam hardware.
- Improves Linux input handling and several native/meshtasticd maintenance items.
- Continues cleanup and dependency refresh work across the build system and device UI stack.
Why Oklahoma operators may care
- If youβre testing portable or fixed nodes on older T-Beam gear, the memory fix may matter.
- This is still an alpha/pre-release, so production backbone or high-importance relay nodes should probably wait unless you need a specific fix.
- Good candidate for lab nodes, travel kits, and secondary routers before wider rollout.
Release notes summary
- Native semaphore synchronization fix.
- New meshtasticd configs for additional mPWRD-OS targets.
- Linux input enable-logic fix.
- SFTP-based PPA upload changes and build/dependency maintenance.
- Several dependency bumps including GxEPD2 and LovyanGFX.

Note: This is a pre-release. Flash test nodes first, back up configs, and donβt shotgun it onto critical infrastructure unless you enjoy self-inflicted chaos.
