The Meshtastic team has introduced Zero-Cost Hops — a feature that allows messages to traverse infrastructure routers without consuming hop count.

What this means for Oklahoma mesh networks:

• Messages can bridge long distances via relay nodes without burning hops
• A faster preset that normally requires more hops becomes viable
• Two cities 600 miles apart can be bridged via LoRa with hops to spare
