Meshtastic has published a new pre-release firmware build: v2.7.22.96dd647. There has not been a newer stable firmware release since November 2025, so this alpha build is worth a look for operators who like to stay close to upstream, especially if you are testing hardware before recommending updates across the Oklahoma mesh.
Release: Meshtastic Firmware 2.7.22.96dd647 Alpha
Published: April 14, 2026
Type: Pre-release / alpha
Highlights
- Fixes a heap blowout issue on T-Beam devices, which is the most operator-relevant change in this build.
- Includes additional maintenance and synchronization fixes in native and Linux-related components.
- Adds more Meshtasticd platform configuration coverage for mPWRD-OS targets.
What Oklahoma mesh operators should know
- If you run LilyGO T-Beam nodes, this build may be worth testing because the memory fix could improve stability.
- This is still an alpha release, so it is best suited for test nodes or operators comfortable with rollback and hands-on troubleshooting.
- For production backbone or hard-to-reach field nodes, waiting for a stable tag is still the safer move.
